Note to Kenny Williams:
DO NOT TRADE FREDDY GARCIA!!!

Wake me up when September ends
Im about 99% sure that this season is over. It’s going to take a miracle to save this season, I figure in order to make the postseason they have to go 11-2 or 12-1, and based on watching this team play they’ll be lucky if they go 6-7. Even 11-2 or 12-1 doesn’t guarantee us a postseason birth, we also need to Twins to go on some type of win/loss/loss/win type streak while we keep winning. Or we need the Tigers to completely fall off which again, is a very large longshot. Maybe a homestand will change our luck? Probably not but hey it’s worth a shot. I was listening to the radio this morning and are criticizing Ozzie for putting in the likes of Gload and Cintron in the line-up yesterday, those people need to realize that, thats who we needed in the line-up yesterday. Unfortuneately it didn’t work out, Theres many off-season moves that need to be made. #1 should be figuring out who’s playing LF next year, because if Scott Podsednik is still on this team, I will deem the organiztion insane. Whether it be Gload, who could lead off hit .300+ and steal 15-25 bases, or Ozuna, or Fields. Or maybe they will be smart and go after Sarge’s kid to play CF for us and have BA play every now and then. If we got Gary Matthews it would be the greatest for this team because he’s your perfect lead-off hitter. Switch hitter, has alot of power, and a good amount of speed. Uribe may need to go too, and maybe package him in a deal with Freddy to The Angels for O-Cab and Figgins. Granted, im dreaming here and that probably won’t happen, but the Gary Matthews signing would be incredible. Big series tonight against the Tigers, need to cincher up and hunker down for the next 13 games, im not expecting much anymore so hopefully they suprise me…11-2 here we come.
A Homer a day will keep the Doc away
GREAT win tonight, one of the best of the season. Come from behind , after Garland gives up his first long one in 9 starts. The Offense had the best approach to Halladay that I’ve seen them have to any pitcher all season. Im amazed that Thome only struck out once and Konerko didn’t even K at all! It feels like a month that these guys haven’t been in our line-up but im go glad that they’re back. It’s nice to see Pods doing his thing again (bunt base hits, stealing!). And other than the 1st inning Jon did pitched a heckuva game. Of Course the one nitpick I have is I don’t want to see Mackowiak in center ever again, if Mack absolutely positively NEEDS to play, put Pods in center and move Mack to Left. Mack is NOT a CF, he’s proven that time and time again. Coop has supposedly changed Javy’s delivery, which was supposedly the cause of his "flat" pitches, so we’ll see how that goes. Oh and a side note, B-Mac pitched 2 scoreless, hitless innings tonight. I’d rather we used MacDougal and saved B-Mac for Sat after the 6th inning, because we all know what happens when Javy reaches the 6th. But GREAT effort tonight, best I’ve seen the team in awhile. We got a rookie tomorrow, and hopefully we can hit him and get a streak going!
WHITE SOX, WHITE SOX, GO GO WHITESOX!
Sox break streak behind Jon’s gem
Been awhile I know, I’ve been busy. But I’ll be updating alot more from ehre on out. Alot has happened since I last updated, the Sox seemed to have gotten the "flu" as Farmio put it on Saturday. I agree, while some of our pitchers seem to have gotten over this "flu" most of our offense hasn’t. Freddy pitched a whale of a game yesterday and deserved a win by far. However, by far the best pitcher we’ve had over the last month. Jon hasn’t given up more than 2 runs over his last 5 starts and today was no different. You can’t really ask alot more than 8 1/3 and no runs. He finally got that ERA under 5. Im almost certian Jon is this years Jose, he’s won 6 straight decisions and his ERA over that span is under 2. Keep it up Gar we need ya man. Im happy that we’ve gotten 2 straight quality starts but im alittle worried about this upcoming series against the Twins. Especially with Javy going tomorrow, I really wish he didn’t throw his curveball inside with a 2 strike count. Or maybe he could get through a game w/o using his curveball at all because it’s really killing him. I really can’t wait for Tuesday Jose Vs Santana, it’ll be one of the better games this year for sure. Thank god we miss Liriano ha. But hopefully Freddy and Jon have set the trend and Javy will come out tomorrow and be lights out lke he was in the beginning of the season. Then we can keep the line moving with Mark, and then our offense can wake up and the team will be in synch, and if these guys are all in synch with one another, it could spell trouble for any team.
. Wishes…..for now. So Jon….think you could go for 18 straight?
Side Note: Widge was DFA today, good, thanks for last year man, you were decent and a good back-up to AJ. I’ll never forget the 3 run jack against RJ and the Yanks, it was a thing of beauty. And a big WELCOME BACK to Sandy! Im sure everyone will love to see you back in a White Sox Uni. Be a serviceable back-up to AJ and raise that .300+ AVG!
The New Chicago Marathon
0, thats exactly how many runs the rookie phenom closer Jonathan Papelbon has given up this year on the road. No longer does that statement hold true, with 2 outs in the 9th inning, in a 3-2 game, Jose Contreras’s winning streak 1 out away from ending. Jermaine Dye at the plate and drives a 0-1 forkball from Papelbon to the bullpen in left-field to tie the game at 3-3. That would only be half the runs the White Sox needed to beat the Boston Red Sox in 19 innings today. The Red Sox would take a 5-3 lead thanks to a 2 run single by Mark Loretta in the top of the 11th with 2 outs. You would think it’s over wouldn’t you? WRONG. The ChiSox rally for 2 more in the bottom of the 11th thanks to the speed of Alex Cintron breaking up a double play, and a Jermaine Dye Double to right center. The Game went back and forth, lead off men getting erased on double plays, blown bunts, blown calls, you name it, it happened in this game. Until the the bottom of the 19th when Gooch hit a high fastball off of Boston reliever Rudy Seanez and got it through the hole on the left side of the infield to bring home Alex Cintron from 3rd and send the White Sox to the All-Star game on a high note. Lost in all the madness was the incredible job our bullpen did in holding the Red Sox to 2 ER over the last 13 innings. Both came off of Bobby, but since he was forced to pitch 3 innings instead of his regular one, it’s fine. The streak lives on, and it makes its way to Yankee Stadium on Friday where Jose must face his old team to keep his streak going. Also don’t forget Home Run Derby tomorrow at 7 on ESPN, and All-Star Game on FOX at 7 on Tuesday.
Bad
Best way I can describe the game today. Bad. Bad pitching, Bad hitting. Defense was OK. But im really starting to get sick of our pitching. seems JD is the only one who wants to win games. Jose needs to come out tomorrow with his A game. First series loss in over a month. Only thing I have to say is we better have a 2nd half than 1st, pitching wise that is.
Can’t spell Clutch without the L
No Clutch hitting, was our biggest problem tonight. Mark pitched an average game, maybe mediorce. But most of the hits he gave up were bloop hits things that just found holes. The hardest hit ball all night was the homer. Also, I dislike Chris Widger, Ozzie uses him for LHP to give AJ a day off. Widger is hitting .150 against LHP. AJ is hitting .299…..maybe it’s time to give Chris Stewart a look? w/e bad loss, we should be 2 back again by the nights end. We’ll get em tomorrow, Freddy’s a "Big Game Pitcher" or so he likes to call himself. But stats say he does do ALOT better against winning teams rather than losing teams.
Jose can you see 17 straight?
Today’s game was the one I’ve been waiting for from Jose. AWESOME. Just simply awesome. You could tell right from the 1st inning that the pitcher that showed up over the past 3 or 4 starts had dissappeared and Jose Contreras had returned. And you can’t say enough about Juan, When Uribe gets on his hot streak, he’s unstoppable. Tigers lose, Twins lose, Yankees Lose. Today was a good day. I hope everyone had a good 4th!
Sox Give O’s a win
As much as people want to give Freddy the blame for tonight’s loss, I won’t. It doesn’t help when your defense doesn’t back you up. And thats what happened tonight. 3 Earned isn’t bad, in fact Freddy hasn’t given up more than 3 over his past 3 or 4 starts. He’s technically been our most consistant pitcher over the past month or so. He got ticked when he didn’t get the called third strike on Mora and thats what really spelled disaster for that inning. Freddy’s a hothead sometimes and he couldn’t focus when he wasn’t getting some strike calls. And I wouldn’t mind seeing Widger not in the line-up for a good two weeks or so, but that won’t happen ha. Oh, well at least the Tigers lost, but im keeping my eye on Minnesota as well.
Jose goes for #17 tomorrow, I hope he comes out dealing tomorrow. I would like a dominating pitching performance since we haven’t had one in awhile.
